With over 25 years’ experience within UK based Architectural practice, Cameron has been responsible for a comprehensive range of buildings and projects throughout the country.

Graduating from The University of Dundee in 1997, Cameron spent the first few years of his career in Glasgow with 3D Architects and GD Lodge & Partners working on a number of high profile commercial developments.

In 2003 Cameron re-joined 3D Architects as an Associate Director within their newly opened Edinburgh office to head up and develop the office’s commercial team. Promoted to Divisional Director in 2005 and as a senior member of 3D’s UK national management team, Cameron had specific responsibility for business, resource and financial management within their Edinburgh office alongside a broader Scottish responsibility for the development and management of key private sector clients and portfolio of projects across a number of commercial sectors, primarily Retail, Office, Industrial and Manufacturing and Commercial Masterplanning.

Cameron’s senior level responsibilities also extended nationally, assisting with the business and strategic planning and direction of the wider UK business. This involved active and regular involvement in the business’s 4 regional offices in London, Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow. Cameron also played a senior management level role in the merger and integration between 3D Architects and Reid Architecture to form 3DReid in 2007.

Cameron left 3DReid in 2011 to join Mansell Construction’s senior management team as their Scottish National Business Development Director. Mansell Construction (formerly part of the Balfour Beatty Group) was a circa £800m turnover business operating throughout the UK. Cameron’s remit was to attract, win and develop new business and development opportunities primarily in Scotland but also within the wider UK. In late 2012 as part of a wider business restructuring, parent company Balfour Beatty integrated the Mansell brand within the Balfour Beatty Construction business.

Returning to Architecture in early 2013, Cameron established his own Edinburgh based Architectural practice, Cameron Laird Architects Ltd (CLA). The business works throughout Scotland across key sectors including Retail, Industrial & Process, Office & Workplace, Listed Buildings & Heritage, Residential and Commercial Masterplanning.

Cameron remains fully involved with all projects the business undertakes from inception to completion. CLA’s Clients include local and national property companies, landowners and investors, corporate end users, “blue chip” nationals, main contractors and private equity firms to name a few.

Over his career to date Cameron has developed a broad range of experience, wide network of contacts and proven track record at both project and senior management level within the UK property industry with the successful design, implementation and delivery of numerous projects across various sectors.
